RF - IQ Demodulator Slide 10
In a multi-carrier zero-IF receiver, the multiple carriers are sampled after quadrature or real demodulation. This multi-carrier approach increases the performance burden for many of the components in the signal chain that would otherwise only be faced with processing a single carrier. One interesting problem to be dealt with is the out of band blocker. Note that when the complex signal is separated into real and imaginary (I and Q) components, that the blocker now sits directly on top of the desired signal. The dynamic range of the components in this part of the signal chain, including the ADC, must be high enough to deal with this blocker.
