Thermal noise is also known as Johnson Noise or Resistor Noise and is generated by thermal electron agitation. This noise is proportional to resistance, as outlined by the equation shown here. This equation is sometimes alternatively shown as “Root 4 KTRB” where B represents Bandwidth.
