Connectors and lenses are often added to PMIs to enhance design ease and visual performance, respectively. Connectors are attached to the end of the wire lead to allow the wire to easily “plug in” to both the LED housing and PCB power source. This allows design engineers to simply “plug-and-play” without the need for complicated integration. Lenses are used when a protective cover is needed or a more aesthetically appealing look is desired.
