Torex is excellent at PFM/PWM auto shifting control. The upper-right hand graph shows ripple voltage characteristics while the bottom four graphs show the ripple voltage waveforms (the light blue lines) plotted at the four points at load currents of 3mA, 30mA, 70mA and 200mA. Ripple cycle is changed corresponding to the frequency change, but ripple height remains at the very small level of 10mV over the full load range. This data was taken with the XC9236A18CMR-G at a frequency of 1.2MHz. The next slide will show the 3MHz version. Note that the “-G” at the end of the part number indicates that in addition to being RoHS compliant, it is also Halogen and Antimony free.
