A usual application is to transmit a signal from one PCB to another by using connectors on a flat ribbon cable. Using common connectors, the flat ribbon cable often runs across the PCB. With the REDFIT IDC SKEDD Connector, the customer can connect directly, especially if the PCB is SMD only or if there is a tight case around the PCB. The ability to mount the REDFIT IDC SKEDD connector on top or bottom allows direct, shorter connections regardless of previous solder or assembly processes.
