As reference, this slide shows the old solution TI offered to customers compared to the TPS75005. In the past, a linear solution consisted of a dual LDO and an external supervisor. One of the benefits of TPS75005 over the old solution is the use of ceramic capacitors. Also, the sequencing needs are covered by the TPS75005 which means an external supervisor is not needed, and as mentioned previously the C2000 requires ±5% accuracy which is met by the new power solution. Using the old solution with an external supervisor may not lead to that accuracy given that this uses external resistors which have their own tolerances and may never have ±5% accuracy. These benefits combined provide an improved solution with better performance at a lower cost.
