PS2 Series Plug-In Power Connectors

Hirose is now offering the PS2 plug-in power connector for storage batteries. Featuring a hybrid design of power and signal contacts, this series is rated at 100 A to 300 A. The PS2 improves efficiency for installation and maintenance procedures compared to traditional storage battery connectors. Wiring can be completed off-site before delivery to the field, and battery installation and removal on site is a simple plugging in and unplugging. This process can greatly improve safety by reducing the chance of accidental electrical shock.

Multiple springs on the power contact function to decrease contact resistance, maintain high current capacity, and sustain a secure contact under vibration. The first-make / last-break sequential mating structure allows detection of conditions during connection.

Three types are available; 100 A, 200 A, and 300 A. Operating temperature ranges from -40°C to +105°C, and are highly suitable for applications with industrial battery storage. The PS2 conforms to IP2X standards (100 A and 200 A) and is RoHS-compliant.
