Wireless power transfer is complex, and in order to successfully implement this process, designers are tasked with understanding how antennas interact with surrounding structures and developing a precisely controlled power delivery system. Infineon offers customized turnkey wireless solutions including N-channel/P-channel MOSFETs, a family of high-voltage USB-C power delivery microcontrollers (MCUs), several development platforms for the design of products that can be powered from high-voltage USB power delivery (PD) port, and a reference design. With products offering up to 45W of power with up to a 90% efficiency, this technology has applications beyond the classical smartphone charging use case. All wireless power systems are fully interoperable with current Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) Qi standards and meet communication, thermal, and Foreign Object Damage (FOD) requirements.
