Simplifying the Design

Power supply design is an often overlooked yet increasingly challenging task for system level designers. As system complexity increases, board space requirements are decreasing with more dense designs. Hence the need for a simpler point-of-load solution that maintains excellent performance while requiring a minimal overall footprint. Altera introduces the EN53x9QI family of footprint compatible PowerSoCs which integrate the inductor, controller, and MOSFETs into a 1.5 A, 2 A, or 3 A solution. Footprint compatible options are available to scale to design and offer a total solution size of only 55 mm2.
