The total capacitance results from millions of parallel capacitor segments individually protected by fuse gates. In the case of a weak point, the fuse gate activates and isolates one segment. Capacitance will decrease slightly over time if additional segments become isolated. No failure, no short circuit, will occur, only a slight capacitance decrease over time. The time to achieve a predetermined capacitance loss can be precisely calculated. This results in total safety over the capacitor lifetime.
